Description

Since last friday I was unsatisfied with the rendering of the somewhat rushed "starshell" armor. The rendering and overall values were too muddy. So this week I wanted to redeem myself by practicing the rendering of smoother, more technical materials.

What better subject to do this than some STAAAAR WAAARS! Lacking the brilliant characters and charme of the original movies, Rogue One's stars where once more the beautiful effects and designs. So I picked the deathtrooper, with it's wonderful "form follows emotion" design paradigm, executed masterfully. They look so very, very evil. But still subtle enough to remain believable. 

So because I didn't need to think about the design, I could concentrate on technique once more.  I hope to develop a clearer understanding of material and geometry in the future.
